Default Submitting an Essay in HTML Format

There are several options for submitting your essay. In many cases, you may find that you can creat the look you're after using the "BB Code" offered by VBulletin. It allows you to change font sizes, insert images into the body of the text, allows indents and centering, etc. We suggest using that option if possible.

However, there may be times when you're after a certain specific look, and only html will allow you to get what you want. We do accept essays in html format, but there is a special procedure to use when submitting.

HTML based essays must be uploaded to the html essay topic. That topic does not have BB codes enabled, which prevents them from distorting the html code. If you upload them to the other review topic, it will do strange things to the html.

When uploading an essay, select "go advanced" in the edit window. Type a real brief description of the essay, then click on the html tags button. ("< >", 2nd from the right on the bottom row of icons)

Paste your html code between the two tags. It will end up looking something like this:

    HTML Code:
    <p><font face="Arial"><a href="http://www.railroadphotoessays.com/forum/">
RailroadPhotoEssays.com</a> - For the best in Railroad Photo Essays!</font></p>
To upload your attachments, we would prefer that you create a zip file with all of the images in it. If you can't do that, upload them as attachments. In either case, put them as a reply to your message.

Obviously, at this point your essay won't look like much. Don't worry, the review staff will copy the images to our server, and correct the links in your html, and then post the essay in regular format.
