Riding with a Fisheye

I guess I’m fortunate to have contacts with the railroads that, from time to time, call me and ask if I’d like to ride with them for a day. The most recent time was late June 2007 when a friend called and asked if I’d like to tag along with Connecticut Southern Railroad train CSO-4 on a Saturday run from East Hartford, CT to West Springfield, MA and return. After getting approval from my wife – the keeper of the calendar – I met the guys in East Hartford, preparing to ride north on a beautiful summer day… (more)

Over a Bottle of Blueberry Wine

Spent a interesting July 14 afternoon with my camera repair gentleman. I brought along a bottle of wine as per the header, chilled of course, he supplied the wine glasses. Being now off chemo meant I could now drink some alcohol and I like my blueberry wine; Hans being on radiation had no so such qualms and besides “a drink or two between old friends can often smooth the bumps of time.” .
